Extended ESP pump life = VALUE!

Applying UCT’s EXO coating to critical pump components increases pump life – and that increases revenue.

In fact, a major end-user study of 13,000 wells with ESP’s concluded that extending ESP run life from 300 days to 600 days is worth $350,000 or ($27,000 per well) due to reductions in downtime, equipment costs, and labor costs!

CASE STUDY I:

Well Conditions: Highly abrasive sand

Baseline Run Life: 300 days

Coated Run Life: 700+ days

Improvement: 2x

At this California site, abrasive sand was causing serious pump stage erosion, limiting run time to just over 300 days. More than half of the pump failures resulted from either plugged stages or severely worn stages…conditions that UCT’s EXO coating can help remedy.

The addition of EXO-coated diffusers and impellers helped this end user more than double ESP run time to more than 700 days!

CASE STUDY 2:

In another study, operators of a well experienced ESP run times averaging just 90 days…until UCT’s coating technology helped them extend that life by nearly five times.

Coated Run Life: 500+ days

Improvement: 5x

Persistent abrasion from flour sand cut ESP run times in this urban California setting to just 90 days. After a solution that included UCT’s EXO coating on all diffusers and impellers, the system ran 526 days…before being stopped by a failure unrelated to the pump.

More Confirmation of Abrasion Resistance

One of our OEMs performed controlled evaluation of EXO’s performance in a slurry test loop. After subjecting pumps to a 1% (by volume) abrasive slurry, the OEM reported that UCT’s coating endured the destructive forces better than any coating ever tested in the slurry loop.
